ACTIVITY 2:
1. How do you think this kind of transparency affects the school community?
2. Were you more drawn to those posts with personal reflections or did you prefer to read blogs in which the author focused on the issues important to school leaders?
3. What are your initial thoughts about the type of blog you would want to maintain?
4. How would this type of blog meet your administrative needs
By using the blogs to meet the administrative needs, I
will be able to send messages on a platform that (a) is known, liked, trusted
and used often (b) can be accessed and updated instantly (d) can be put on
other forums (i.e., school website, Facebook, twitter, etc.) and can be
enhanced with podcasting, photo or video clip to connect, communicate and collaborate
with stakeholders.
Blogging would cut down on so many daily phone calls to the front office from stakeholders asking basic questions about events, after school programs, deadlines, lunch menus, report cards, delays and many other concerns because it would allow me to connect, share, communicate and collaborate news and events immediately to the masses.
Although, I think
bloggings is an effective method for administrators to communicate with its
stakeholders, I do NOT think that blogging should be the only form of
communication.
